I'm very gratified that one of the first thing my godson saw is the basket of flowers that I sent to the hospital. His mother is one of my best friends in the world and I couldn't be happier. Flowers are so much more tactile and have more substance than cards or electronic messages, like they are stand-ins for you. It's something they can move around and focus on in order to get the kind of feeling that I hope I would provide were I there. I'm glad that you can help me express my sympathy for the family in this way and that I can do it much more easily than if I were to go there myself.
